Infinity

The Infinity® Underdrain is the only extruded dual-parallel lateral underdrain available. This unique design feature eliminates potential underdrain failures by eliminating joints all together. Because there is no assembly of individual lateral runs required to form a complete lateral, there are also no snaps, clips, grout, o-rings, tongue and groove connections or gaskets to potentially fail. Each Infinity® underdrain lateral is shipped to the jobsite completely assembled for easy installation. Flume openings are pre-cut into each lateral and custom flume blocks are not required.


For installations requiring air scour, the Infinity® Underdrain is designed to accommodate simultaneous air and water wash rates of up to 6 scfm/sf (109 m³/hr/m²) and 20 gpm/sf (48.78 m³/hr/m²) concurrently. The Infinity® underdrain is manufactured 100% from a corrosion resistant lightweight PVC. This construction feature makes the Infinity® underdrain ideal for desalination applications.


The overall height of the underdrain when installed is a nominal 6" (15.24cm). Each lateral is custom manufactured to the required filter width. Customized lateral lengths in excess of 38 feet (11.58m) can be manufactured without joints.


The Infinity® Underdrain combines excellent distribution characteristics with one of the lowest profiles in the industry to maximize filter freeboard and bed depth. The top surface of each lateral contains the appropriate number of discharge orifices to assure proper distribution. This feature assures that filtered water will be uniformly collected, and backwash water is uniformly discharged into the media placed above the underdrain system.


The Infinity® Underdrain can be supplied with or without a porous plate. The porous plate eliminates the need for the gravel support and the unique rail mount system provides a positive mechanism to prevent media migration into the underdrain.
